Description

I finally found some Gallery software that I like and that I didn’t have to wrestle with too much.   You can find the Gallery itself here at the new site.

It’s nice and I’m pretty happy with it so the bazillion re-designs are done and I can stop worrying about it.   (For now.)

You will find paintings there, photographs, colorized graphics, more artwork to come soon, (I’m working on a lot of things at the moment.)    And soon to come — a shop.  You will be able to get artwork on Tshirts and cards and mugs, etc., so if you think you can’t afford prints or originals, that will be an option. The shop link is not linked up yet,  but it will be soon,  so please check back later.

The old addresses for the site will all still work but they will now point to the new gallery.

Description

Sometimes I hear people give political speeches on and people applaud what they say, of course, because they are happy it’s being said. If that’s the case, though, I see no reason to wait until someone else says it. Why don’t the people doing the applauding give speeches instead of just approving of other people’s speaking? Americans are far too polite about things they should not be quiet about.

Prosecutor Vincent Bugliosi was particularly frustrated with that on June 30th when he spoke in Venice, CA about his new book. People were calling him courageous, and he said no, I’m not courageous. I’m motived by pure anger. (The title of his book is “The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder”). It’s the same with art, it’s often an expression of anger. My political art is very mild compared to some that I’ve seen.

Tulum painting Small Version

This watercolor is inspired by a trip to Tulum, Mexico last November. It’s not at all location-accurate, but if you have been there you might appreciate the concept at least. The ocean there is a shade of blue that comes out of no tube of paint that has ever been invented. This is an ancient Mayan site that is right on the edge of the earth looking east, a fortress above what has to be one of the world’s most beautiful beaches.

This watercolor and all artwork here is for sale; prints are available also.

Description

El Pilar is a large, mostly-uncovered Mayan site that I visited in March 2007. It’s about 12 miles north of San Ignacio, Belize, on an absolutely terrible road. It’s on the border with Guatemala on the west side of the country, and it’s now a Belize national park.

This painting is in acrylic and it’s from a photo of the path leading out of the park. A beautiful canopy of palm trees made the path like a tunnel on the way out.

Prints of this painting in two sizes and cards are also available. Click below for more information.
This painting is 22″ X 28″ in acrylic on canvas. Order a light-fast high-quality print of this painting for just $85.00, (with $7 shipping in the U.S.) Also for sale are 5 X 7″ cards (blank inside and including envelope) for $1.50 each.

Nebula I

This looks a lot like the Casseopeia Nebula, but with the wrong colors. I could easily spend a lot of time looking at the Hubble telescope photos on this Hubble site, and you can compare this to a lot of nebulas there. At the very least, it would make a good book cover for a story set in another galaxy.
